My Bio

As a former "UCCB" graduate (BA '89, BSc '92 & '94), I am happy to be back in Cape Breton after a busy 9 year hiatus. I spent the summer of 1995 at Bamfield Marine Sciences Center on Vancouver Island before heading to graduate school that September. In 1997 I completed my MSc (Lakehead). I spent the next 5 years working as a Research Assistant in the Neuroendocrine Unit (Psychiatry) at McGill University. Then it was off to Philadelphia for a year to work as a Research Specialist in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology (Tumor Virology Unit) at the University of Pennsylvania.

In the summer of 2003 I accepted this job as a Biology lab instructor. Its wonderful to be back "home" ! Currently, I serve as Faculty Advisor to the Biology Society and sit on the Bachelor of Technology Degree Committee.

Labs:

  • Biology 101 (Bridge & non-Bridge) Cell & Molecular Biology I
  • Biology 104 (Bridge) Organismal & Evolutionary Biology I
  • Biology 202 Cell & Molecular Biology II
  • Biology 315 Molecular Regulation in Biological Systems
  • Biology 317 Gene Manipulation
  • Biology 417 Advances in Gene Manipulation

In addition, I have taught PUBH 214 (Anatomy & Physiology).
