Dr. Sylvia Burrow is Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Cape Breton University. Research focusses on moral psychology and encompasses emotion theory, integrity, and autonomy in social contexts, with an emphasis on self-confidence, self-trust, and self-esteem. Recent research is internationally represented, appearing in journals and book chapters on topics concerned with linguistics, philosophical reasoning, academic autonomy, reproductive autonomy, and autonomy in the context of violence against women.
