Bachelor of Health Sciences (Public Health)

1 Year In-career/Distance Option

This is a degree completion opportunity open to only those students who hold the credential Certified Public Health Inspector (Canada), CPHI(C). Certified inspectors are eligible to receive the Bachelor of Health Sciences (Public Health) degree upon completion of the equivalent of one year full-time study, which, in Public Health, is a minimum of twelve three-credit courses. It may be completed part-time via distance education over two years.

While students following other learning pathways may be admitted into these courses, proof of certification is required before the degree can be conferred.
These distance offerings are developed for the one-year in-career option for students who are practicing Public Health professionals, and the approach is significantly different from the face-to-face version. These courses generally are not open to on-campus students: in rare circumstances on-campus students may be admitted to the distance version and only with prior permission of the instructor.

The 4-year and 2-year options cannot be completed via distance education.

Due to many courses having significant laboratory components, only selected units are available via distance education. We offer two courses via distance each fall, winter, and spring term. Our schedule for distance is as follows (all courses three credits):
