Bio Notes:

I'm an Associate Professor at the Shannon School of Business, Cape Breton University (CBU), Canada. I'm currently teaching Management Science and Information Systems (IS) courses, i.e. Information Systems for Managers, Quantitative Methods, and Computers in Business. I received my tertiary education in Africa, Europe, and North America. I've lived in four (4) different countries, and traveled widely in 30 others including Spain, Germany, USA, Cyprus, Sweden, Ghana, UAE, France, Italy, Egypt, etc. This international exposure has had a lasting impression on my view of the world. This exposure has been the most transforming of all my experiences. Wherever I've been, I've always displayed the same passion and vigor for inspiring and motivating my students/wards. I challenge them to think critically and independently. I enjoy teaching as much as I do research. I've  presented at various international IS conferences, contributed chapters to 12 books/encyclopedias, and published in 24 peer-reviewed journals. I've assisted with the organization of several international IS conferences, and I continue to serve my own university community in various capacities. I've authored (and co-authored) about 70 publications. A selection of my publications is available online...Click here to peruse.

With regard to research, I'm interested in studying the interplay between IS, on the one hand, and the individual, organization, and society, on the other. Accordingly, my research interests relates to global IT management, job satisfaction of IT professionals, cross-cultural issues in IS, impacts of IS on organizations, IT use in SMEs, e-business, e-government, e-learning, IS security and privacy issues, ERP systems success measurement, and the diffusion of IS/IT in transiting and developing economies. My articles have appeared in such journals as Computers in Human Behavior, Journal of Computer Information Systems, Industrial Management & Data Systems, Journal of Global Information Technology Management, Enterprise Information Systems, Electronic Government: an International Journal, Journal of Information Technology Management, Business Process Management Journal, Information Management & Computer Security, and Journal of Information Technology for Development. I serve as a reviewer for several international journals, including International Journal of Electronic Business and International Journal of Education and Development using Information and Communication Technology, and Journal of Electronic Commerce Research.
