Cape Breton Highlanders
Monument

Benediction

They will never know the beauty of this place,
See the seasons change, enjoy nature's chorus.
All we enjoy we owe to them..
Men who lie buried in the earth of foreign lands
We, the members of
The Cape Breton Highlanders Association
Dedicate ourselves to the memory of
Our comrades who died over seas
In the service of their country
And so preserved our heritage.
We will remember them.

To their everlasting honour and glory
In gratitude
The people of Cape Breton

Roll of Honor

The 22nd  Cheshire Cairn and Oak Tree planted at Louisbourg in 1989 by the 2NSH(Cape Breton)

Dedication

To our fallen comrades,
Two hundred and one in number,
Some very young,
Their average age a mere twenty-three years,
Their term in uniform, at times but
A few short months...
Yet, in their short lives,
By their immortal service and supreme sacrifice,
They have set for us to remain
A noble example of the true Canadian-
A defender of freedom and decency,
A champion of democracy,
A lover of truth, righteousness, and justice.
To their immortal memory
In humble and reverend gratitude
We, The Cape Breton Highlanders Association,
Remember and honour them,
Whose names live for evermore
In the annals of history.
