Dr. Judith A. Rolls received a BA from St. Francis Xavier University, a BEd from Dalhousie University, an MA from the University of Maine, and a PhD in speech communication from Indiana University. Dr. Rolls has taught in the Communication Department for over 20 years. Her research interests focus on pedagogy and communication competence, experiential learning, gender communication, women and recovery, and health communication. Dr. Rolls' scholarly work has been published in Canadian, American, and international journals. Her recent communication texts include the first Canadian edition of LOOK: Looking Out, Looking In (Adler, Procter II, & Rolls, 2011) and the 2nd edition of Public Speaking Made Easy (2007). Both texts are used in Communication 1103 and Communication 1105, our introductory courses. Judy is also active as a communication consultant and organizational trainer.
