This course is an introduction to the
chemistry of carbon compounds, both aliphatic and aromatic, and involves a
survey of the major functional groups. Emphasis is placed on the close
connections between mordern organic, biology and biochemistry. Laboratory
exercises are designed to fit closely with lecture material.
